    Hi Sans, thank you for your feedback. Nothing has changed in the extension recently. The fact that m3u8 links from a particular site no longer work when accessed from outside the original web site is almost certainly an indication that the site developers have added some form of protection to prevent stream "leaching". In these cases, trying to circumvent their protections, depending on how sophisticated they are, will mostly not be worth the effort. The only option is to look for other sites that might restream the videos without the additional protections. Unfortunately, streaming sites change (or disappear) often, while this extension will work with very many (most?) sites, there are also many sites for which it will not work. I'd be happy to look into whatever site has stopped working for you if you provide me with the link, either paste it here or email it to me at [email protected]. One last suggestion: Some movie (or other) streaming sites are "aggregators" which are really just providing links to the streams from other sites, in these cases it is possible that some movie streams will work and others will not, depending on the protections set by their originating links.

    so maybe i do a little pirating, maybe not. i got a notice on a bunch of my streams that i needed to update something about an HLS, and after doing zero research I picked this app. i was dubious at best, but it worked a treat after i restarted chrome. Thank you, kind code wizard, for helping a guy get back to watching all of star trek. deep space nine is surprisingly good

    Hi Cahit, sorry to hear you are having browser crashes. The extension's code is relatively simple (you can view it directly from the Chrome Web Store) and its execution is sandboxed from other browser processes so it should not be able to crash the browser. That said, Google's extension development platform APIs aren't perfect and any bugs they might have could crash the browser. If you have any detailed information about how to recreate the problem please contact me at [email protected] and I could investigate further. Anyway, I do plan to release another update in a few months and will be performing another round of thorough testing for that.
