    The core distraction blocking is free and stays free. The Pro version is for people that want all the extra features. YouTube changes constantly, and maintaining FocusTube takes hours of work and technical knowledge. I've spent years building this tool, and the high star rating and thousands of users are a clear indication that it has helped many people. The alternative to a paid tier was never a free extension, it was an abandoned one.
