Chrome has broken it as of April 2026. Non-functioning now. Have to disable it, and restart Chrome to get videos to work.

Don't know what happened, will cause some side effects, e.g. web console in https://cnb.cool/ being very slow, while disabling this extension will turn back to normal.

It works at least on Fandom, but somehow as soon as there is a video that it blocks, the CPU (AMD Ryzen 5 9600X) usage bumps up to 30-50% and the temperature to sub-60 degrees (C) from the regular temp of around 38C while having 9 tabs open with only 1 of them containing a blocked video. That seems to indicate it's not very optimized like with the way it blocks videos--I can see that it's "trying" when it blocks a video from playing on the video frame. It flickers in a weird way. No effect on NYTimes.com. 3 videos on page one, 3/5/2026, ran as they pleased despite "Video Blocker Video blocking is enabled [NYTimts.com]. Videos on this domain are blocked". Yet they run just fine. The example shown in the description of the NYTimes.com being blocked never occurred on my pc. Reboot and restart had no effect. Former apps dev mgr. Looks like Chrome and/or NYTimes.com have the upper hand here. Did stop videos with double click on video which 1. opened audio, and 2. p...
